I quite like the stippling/shading on the ship, and the colors have nice contrast. The background is also a nice Seuratian blend of colors.

Agreed, updrafting sand looks fun to work with. One of those rare occasions that sand cooperates.

Yeah, like the boarding craft, the most interesting bits are on the underside. I was going for nasty-looking-pirate-ship-that-looks-like-it-was-constructed-in-a-scrap-shop, which it essentially was. I think I pulled it off.
