This form emphasises precision and thus works towards exploiting the ungainliness, or, in fact, any unnecessary movement, of the opponent. Djem So has a tendency to kineticly overwhelm its defences, but it is still the only form that allows one to remove both their opponents elbows with a single flick of the wrist.

I hate those elbow slashes! Contrary, however, to Dooku’s ideas, I was often able to beat it with Ataru.
That’s because I’m bad against Ataru, not Makashi.
